To me this is the best benefit because you can truly earn whatever you feel your time is worth, vs get stuck in a salary that is barely adjusted for inflation.
To not have to show up to a work location is one of the best luxuries that’s ever existed in my opinion. Do you have any idea how many frivolous hours we spend in traffic, harming the world with pollution, deteriorating quality time that we could be spending with our family? We are now in a time, where people can earn a living from virtually any corner of the earth. Literally.
Set your own rules. Beat your own drum. It’s your life. If you want to work more you work more and get more clients and if you want to dial it back and give yourself a breather. It’s up to you.
Jobs are jobs. You do the same damn thing every day, and somehow we’ve been brainwashed to believe that’s a good thing. How is that good for your brain? Wouldn’t you be rather learning new things and learning how to apply them into new businesses instead of monotonous mundane tasks that burn your soul out?
Many of the clients and colleagues that I’ve worked with are also my friends. I’ve also learned about businesses I’ve never ever encountered. This has made me, in my opinion, more rounded, with a wider perspective than when I was in my 20’s and early 30’s.
